There is a Peace

I am here! I am in Kenya!!😍 We kind of had a rough get-going, but it just matters that we’re here now!

Our flight to Amsterdam from Salt Lake City was delayed four hours so we ended up having a ten hour layover there. We got to Amsterdam and met Aunt Julie at our gate. We thought that we would have to stay the night there, but they put us on a flight to London and then on to Nairobi.

We met a lady in London who was headed to Kenya. I was talking to her and found out that she was going to Nairobi for her sister’s funeral. I felt so bad for her.

I sat by Aunt Julie on the flight to NBO. I didn’t sleep too much but that’s okay. 🙂 We landed on Kenyan soil at 8:37am! We went through immigrations and the guy was super chill and funny! We went to get out bags and mom’s main bag was missing. We’re hoping to get that soon. We went through customs and a miracle happened! They were supposed to go through everything and tax us on the gifts/devotionals. Well, I’ll tell you what, they didn’t even look at our checked bags!

We got through and met dad with the taxi driver, James. We then went to a phone/sim card store and I stayed with James and the bags. James was very friendly and I talked with him about school, family, America, Kenya, and Kenyan food. As I was talking to him, he said, “I see Kenya in your future.” That literally meant so much to me!

We split up and I went in a seperate taxi with Aunt Julie and Kendra. I sat in the front with the driver, Stephen. Seeing Kenya this time, I am seeing it through different eyes. I feel a peace that I feel at no other place. I feel like I am supposed to be here. It feels like home. I saw a zebra and it was like, oh yeah, I’m going to live with these!😝

I got to practice some Kiswahili which has been so much fun! I have taken my shower and am waiting on everyone else and we’ll go to town and get food.

We fly out to Kisumu, in the morning, at 9:40am-ish. I literally CAN’T wait to see Linel and all the rest of my girls! ❤️❤️❤️
