Finally at Huruma

What an amazing day that was had! This morning I shelled maize, causing my thumb to be almost completely numb tonight.😂 I had a great conversation with Michael, Emmaculate, Dorcas, Benson, Japheth, and Grace while sitting on the tractor.

Since it was Dorcas’s birthday, we poured many buckets and pitchers of water on her, and then sang “Happy Birthday”. Later I gave her cake and we sang happy birthday again. I think she had a good day!

While the students were rehearsing for tomorrow’s workshop inauguration, I got to spend time with Vivian, Leah, Charles, James, Elphas, and Kelvin. I haven’t seen some of them in years, so it was so nice to catch up again. When I was with them, they said that I had a Tanzanian accent because my Kiswahili was too formal!😂 I have so enjoyed getting to use the little Kiswahili that I know!!

Today I got to see Leah, Titus, Denis, Linel, Patrick, Rydone, and Melvin. As I said before, I spent some time with Vivian. The other day I saw her profile on Instagram and decided to DM her just to say hi and ask how she was doing. I told her I was coming and she said, “I might just come, who knows?” We got here last night and I was hugging all my other friends, and here comes Vivian Moraa herself!! Nonetheless, to say, she surprised me so much! After 4.5 years, it was about time to see her again!

I am officially a part of Huruma Dolor Faith Secondary School! I received a uniform today and it made me so happy. I can now be just like the other girls and wear the school skirt.

Tonight I ate dinner by the swings with Vivian, Elphas, and James and we had an amazing, hilarious, and enthusiastic conversation about chicken!😂 We talked about foods in Kenya and in the U.S. Again, much laughter and smiles! I’m so happy that Vivian came all the way from Nairobi to see me for a few days!💞

I can’t wait to see what the rest of the trip has to hold. It has been a great day and I can’t stop thanking God for allowing me to return again!💞
