As humans, we are driven by dreams, hopes, and plans for how our lives should unfold. But when life takes a turn that seems to defy those dreams, it’s natural to begin questioning God. If He placed these desires in my heart, why is this happening? Why is there suffering, why is there pain, why is there heartache? It’s easy to blame God because He reigns over everything. But we must remember that pain doesn’t come from Him—yet He is faithful to bring good even out of the hardest circumstances.
In those moments when life feels like it’s falling apart, we need to trust not only in what God is doing, but in what He isn’t doing. If we are walking in His will, we must trust that He is working even when the mountains don’t move. We must trust Him when the walls of Jericho are still standing, when the lions haven’t been silenced, when the waters haven’t parted, when the drought seems endless, or when the storm feels like it will never end. We must trust.
Before God parted the Red Sea through Moses, Moses said to the Israelites, “The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” And I say to you today: when life doesn’t unfold the way you thought it would, trust. Hold your peace. Let God fight for you. Trust in what He’s not doing, and remain steadfast in His will.
Love and prayers, Vanessa
