As this trip to Tanzania with Chocolate University gets closer, I keep finding myself in awe of how far God has brought me. Some of you already know about this opportunity, but I’ve been reflecting lately on just how thankful I am for the doors He opened, the healing He brought, and the chance to walk into something I once thought was impossible for me.
After being sick for so long, I wasn’t sure if something like this would ever be in my future. But God, in His perfect timing, restored strength to my body and placed this opportunity right in front of me. He simply made a way.
We’ll be learning directly from cacao farmers, visiting schools, and witnessing how direct trade and community partnerships can change lives. It’s a blend of education, business, and cultural connection. I know this isn’t a mission trip, and the intent of the group isn’t focused on faith, but I believe that wherever we go, we have the chance to bring the light of Jesus with us. That’s my quiet prayer—that in the way I listen, encourage, serve, and love, others will catch a glimpse of Him.
I’m also really grateful to be able to use some of my Swahili while I’m there. I’ve missed speaking it, and I know it will be such a gift to connect with people in their own language. But more than anything, my heart is especially looking forward to being with the children again—to laugh with them, hug them, play games, and just love them like Jesus would.
This isn’t just a business trip. For me, it’s a testimony. A testimony of God’s healing, timing, and purpose.

Pictures and updates of the trip will be posted here before anywhere else.
Please pray that I’ll carry God’s love well and represent Him in every moment, even the small ones. With the children, the farmers, and also with the group I am going with.
We leave at the beginning of next week. I truly appreciate your all’s love and support to me. God bless you all so much!
Vanessa
