There are times when the path ahead feels cloudy—when the next step isn’t clear and our hearts are filled with questions. Where should I go? What should I do? How do I know if this is God’s will or just my own desire? These are honest, raw questions many of us wrestle with, especially when we want to please God but aren’t sure how.
In these moments, our first instinct is often to overthink, analyze, plan, and worry. We replay conversations, weigh pros and cons, and try to piece together a puzzle that only God sees the full picture of. But in His Word, we find a better way—a peaceful way. James 1:5 reminds us:
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
This verse doesn’t say, “Figure it out yourself,” or “Make the best guess and hope it works out.” It says to ask—to go directly to the One who holds all wisdom and knowledge and to trust that He won’t withhold it from us.
God is not playing hide and seek with His will. He’s not dangling it just out of reach to test our patience. He wants us to seek Him. He wants us to ask. And when we do, He doesn’t respond with silence or scolding—He responds with love, guidance, and peace.
But here’s where we often get tripped up: even when we’ve prayed, even when we’ve asked, the worry can still creep in. “What if I make the wrong decision?” “What if I miss His voice?” “What if I mess it all up?”
Jesus speaks directly to this in Matthew 6:
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
(Matthew 6:34)
And just a few verses earlier, He said:
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
(Matthew 6:33)
Seeking God’s will starts with seeking Him. Before we chase after answers, we chase after Him. Before we try to figure everything out, we draw near to His heart. Because the truth is, when we’re walking closely with God, when we’re spending time in His Word and in prayer, when we’re surrendered and saying, “Not my will, but Yours,” we can trust that He will guide us—even if we don’t have every detail figured out.
Sometimes He leads through peace. Sometimes through closed doors. Sometimes through wise counsel. But always, He leads through love. He doesn’t ask us to have it all together—He just asks us to come.
So if you’re in a season of decision-making or wrestling with the unknown, remember this:
You don’t have to figure it out alone.
You don’t have to carry the pressure.
You don’t have to fear messing it up.
Seek Him.
Ask Him.
Trust Him.
He’s a faithful Shepherd, and He knows how to lead His sheep—even when the path seems unclear.
You don’t have to worry. You get to rest.
Because the One who holds tomorrow is already walking with you today.

Pre-scheduled Post
Continued prayers are appreciated for my trip in Tanzania. I return home on the 17th. If you are reading this on Saturday night in the U.S., our Sunday morning is approaching. We will go to church with the local cacao farmers in the village and then we will be working on painting the preschool playground and murals around the school. On our Saturday, we attended the graduation for enlighted boys and empowered girls. I really hope that it went well! 😉 I am praying for you all. May God bless you!
