We all have mirrors in our lives.
Some are the glass kind hanging on our walls.
Others are the quiet reflections we catch in our hearts—those moments when we stop and think, who am I really?
Too often, we look in the wrong mirror. We let the words of others, our mistakes, our insecurities, or the lies of the enemy be the reflection we believe. We see “not enough,” “too broken,” “unworthy.” We see the labels the world has slapped on us instead of the name God has spoken over us.
But here’s the truth: there is a mirror that never lies.
It’s the Word of God.
When God looks at you, He doesn’t see the sum of your failures—He sees the masterpiece He’s been forming since before you were born. He calls you chosen (1 Peter 2:9), beloved (Colossians 3:12), redeemed (Ephesians 1:7), and His own (Isaiah 43:1).
Imagine standing in front of a mirror, but instead of seeing your tired eyes or the things you wish you could change, you see the reflection of what God says about you:
You are forgiven.
You are free.
You are deeply loved.
You are made new.
Believing that reflection takes trust. Trust that God’s voice is louder than your fear. Trust that His promises are truer than your feelings. Trust that He meant it when He said you are His workmanship, created for good works (Ephesians 2:10).
When we finally start agreeing with Him—when we stand in front of that mirror and say, I am who God says I am—something shifts. The shame starts to lose its grip. The lies start to sound hollow. And the reflection becomes less about what we see, and more about who we’re becoming in Him.
So today, stand in front of that mirror. Speak His words over yourself. Even if your voice shakes. Even if you don’t feel it yet. Because your feelings will catch up to the truth—and the truth is, you are already everything He says you are.
I am praying for you all. May you hear God’s promises today.
Much love,
Vanessa
