Choosing Worship This Side of Eternity

There is something sacred about worshiping Jesus here and now—this side of eternity. Unlike in heaven, where our worship will flow naturally, effortless and overflowing as we behold His beauty fully, here we are called to choose Him deliberately. Every act of worship—every prayer, every song, every quiet moment of devotion—is a conscious decision to lift our hearts to Jesus.

Worship on this side of eternity is alive because it is active. It is not simply the words we sing or the gestures we make; it is the intentional turning of our hearts toward Him, even in the ordinary moments of life. It is pausing to see His glory in creation, to praise Him for His goodness, to acknowledge His presence in every heartbeat. This is the kind of worship that is transformative because it comes from a heart that chooses Him freely and knowingly.

Here, we have the privilege of engaging with Jesus in a way that heaven cannot offer—because in heaven, worship will be effortless. There, our hearts will respond perfectly to the beauty of Jesus, and praise will flow naturally. But here, now, we worship because we choose to. And that choice is precious. It refines our hearts, strengthens our faith, and deepens our love for Him.

This side of eternity is our stage, our classroom, our garden of devotion. It is where worship becomes a conscious act of love. And the more we practice choosing Him, the more our hearts are prepared for the worship that will one day be effortless in His presence.

Worship today is not about perfection—it’s about choice. And choosing Jesus with our whole hearts is the most beautiful song we can offer.

Much love and many prayers,
Vanessa
