We live in a world where everyone says, “Trust the wait; good will come.” It’s easy to repeat those words, but much harder to truly live them out.
Lately, I’ve been realizing that I am actually living in an answered prayer. Not long ago, I couldn’t do school, couldn’t work, and couldn’t sleep for more than an hour at a time—sometimes not even that, and lived in unmeasurable pain. My life felt like it had been stripped of all normalcy. I wondered if I would ever have a “regular” life again. I thought my hopes and dreams were stripped away forever.
But today, things look so different. I still deal with my illness daily, but I’m taking full-time college classes and working two jobs. Life is busy, but that busyness is built on the foundation of prayers I once desperately prayed. A few weeks ago, God gently and so clearly reminded me of those dark nights, and looking back, I can see how He was weaving everything together for good, even when I couldn’t see it.
If you find yourself in a season of busyness, pause for a moment and thank God for the answered prayer you may be living in right now. And if you’re in a season of waiting, don’t lose faith. Keep praying, keep trusting. Because one day, you too will look back and realize you are standing in the middle of your answered prayer.
Much love and many prayers,
Vanessa
P.S.
Special heartfelt thanks to each one of you who fought for me when I was too weak to fight for myself. May God greatly bless you.
