From Darkness to Dawn

It was about 3 a.m. I was Bible journaling in Psalms when I came across this verse:

“O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.” — Psalm 30:2

I remember reading those words and wanting them to be my testimony. That night, as quiet worship music played, I prayed—not just for healing, but for grace if healing wasn’t part of God’s will for me.

Through the past 366 days, I have walked through nightmare nights, unbearable pain, spiritual warfare, and deep growth. There were moments I couldn’t see a way forward. Yet, here I am. I still have much pain, but now I also have strength—strength to be with friends, to go on drives in the country, and to make homemade food. A year ago, I was in a dark room, struggling to walk, surviving on 10-30 minutes of sleep a night—if I slept at all. Now, I get 1-3 hours, and while that may not seem like much to some, it is a miracle in itself.

They say it’s always darkest before dawn. And after what has felt like an endless night, I am finally starting to see the sunrise. The improvement I’ve seen since January and February is miraculous. The goodness of God amazes me. And I truly believe—this is just the beginning of healing.

If you are in a season of suffering—whether mentally, emotionally, spiritually, or physically—I want to encourage you to hold on. I know how long the nights can be. I know how lonely the days can feel. But you are not alone. There is One who walks beside you, even in the darkest moments. Take His hand. He is faithful, and He will carry you through.

The sun will rise again.
